For countless alcoholics in San Antonio, Club 12 has been a beacon of hope since the day its doors opened. It has undoubtedly saved more lives than anyone will ever be able to count—not through recognition or reward, but through the quiet, selfless generosity of people who give freely and expect absolutely nothing in return.

Club 12 has always been a refuge for me, even during the years when I wasn’t yet ready to get sober. Its doors remained open, its chairs remained available, and its people continued to welcome me without judgment. When the day finally came that I was ready, I knew exactly where I could go. I knew there was a place where people would understand me because they had lived through the same fear, pain, and struggle themselves.
