At Club 12, you are welcome, regardless of whether you are coming voluntarily or because you must satisfy a requirement by an outside entity.  Either way, rest assured you are in good company!

 

Sometimes, courts or other authorities ask for proof of attendance at AA meetings.

AA does not have any set procedure for dealing with this. We do not have any affiliation or agreement with, or obligation to, any of these outside entities as they administer their own requirements. Each individual AA group is free to handle this as they see fit.

We maintain the anonymity of all who attend AA meetings, whether it is the meeting chairperson or a person needing proof of attendance. Therefore, we will not give the chairperson's full name or contact info, or confirm any particular person's attendance.

At Club 12, the meeting chairperson will give instructions about this during their announcements, so be sure to listen for that.  This is true whether you are at an in-person meeting or a Zoom meeting. They may give the instructions at the start of the meeting, or may wait until the midpoint of the meeting. If you still have a question at the end of the meeting, feel free to ask.

In general, it is usually sufficient to submit the date, time, location, type of meeting or topic, and the first name of the chairperson. If a phone number is needed, you may use the main Club 12 phone number, 210-344-8981.
